I’m always drawn to stories that allow the reader to grow alongside the protagonist, and few novels do it better than this. The author takes a deliberate, slow-burn approach to the narrative, but the payoff is worth the patience. It’s beautifully written, emotionally rewarding, and one of the better coming-of-age stories I’ve read.
