I’m going to get back to writing shorter reviews, as I originally intended when I started this project, and there’s no better place to start than with Andrew Chen’s first book.

In a sentence, where was this book when I was starting my first company?!

If you’re a founder, thinking about joining a startup, or you’re simply interested in how technology companies scale, this is a great place to start. Chen does an excellent job of providing a first principles-style summary of various growth strategies that software companies have deployed as they’ve reached critical inflection points, and how those strategies have contributed to the ultimate success or demise of brands that have shaped the world as we know it today.
